Miraeohsung Asset has recently acquired a stake in GCT Semiconductor, Inc., a manufacturer of cutting edge semiconductor solutions in the United States.
GCT is a company that can supply chipsets for 4.5G and 4.75G wireless routers, a prior technology to go to 5G, the next-generation mobile communication standard, and the company has unique technical skills that can be implemented only in Qualcomm and GCT worldwide.
In addition, GCT was the first to develop and validate LTE Single Chip and has excellent LTE technology.
It has 128 related patents (CMOS RF, CMOS Single Chip and Proprietary OFDM Modem technology) and 44 overseas patents.
Miraeohsung Asset is expected to take a step ahead of the high-tech industry in the fourth industrial revolution by acquiring GCT's stake.
