MIRAE OHSUNG ASSET obtains 3 patents including hydrogen gas separator, respiratory fuel cell

MIRAE OHSUNG ASSET obtained 3 patents regarding fuel cell last month. The patent technologies that it obtained are manufacturing method of hydrogen gas separator, which is the core technology of fuel cell in hydrogen vehicle and respiratory fuel cell.

Hydrogen vehicle emits water according to the chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen and is operated by the fuel cell which creates electricity. The core technologies are the electrolytes and separator which allows hydrogen flows in the fuel cell and causes reaction with oxygen. One of the patents that it obtained is regarding the manufacture of high-density hydrogen separator.

High-density hydrogen separator manufacturing method allows easy manufacturing process, thus allows mass production. Also, the process is done at the room temperature, thus no chemical reactions occur between support fixture and hydrogen separator. Also, it is possible to obtain hydrogen separator with high density and the separator has strong durability and reduces the gas leakage. This separator manufacturing method will become the core technology in creating the complex power plant with coal gas.

The second patent technology is to separate the hydrogen gas from hydrocarbon gas. This patent uses hydrogen separator and hydrogen separator module and directly cracks the hydrocarbon fuels. Thus, it is possible to separate the hydrogen with high purity. This benefits the recycling of wastes hydrocarbon gas and saving the resources.

The third technology involves the patent with respiratory fuel cell system. Previous fuel cell system requires the oxidizing agent supplying device which provides oxidizing agent to electric circuit in the fuel cell system. However, this invention does not require oxidizing agent supplying system, reduces the production cost and energy consumed and can be miniaturized.

The water created from this system is not leaked outside and is used for hydrogen humidification. Thus self-humidified membrane electrode assembly does not require water retrieving system.

 CEO of MIRAE OHSUNG GROUP, Kim Bum Chang states that the obtained patent will be commercialized with transfer of technology. The company will invest efforts in securing technology through persistent IP investment and establish cooperation with domestic companies and broaden the business.
